On Tuesday 22nd March, RACI Pharmaceutical Science Group (NSW) and CAPSIG held a seminar “Preservatives and Preservative Efficacy: Pharmaceuticals and Cosmetics” with our Managing Director and Chief Chemist Alan Doughty making an informative presentation.
Alan explored chemical mechanisms of degradation and how preservatives act to stop this. He also discussed the analysis of these compounds as well as the analysis of preservatives in general, including antimicrobials, and validation of these methods.
